Proactive Self-Care

Ever feel like you're on a runaway train with no brakes?

You're not alone. Many of us —especially busy mom entrepreneurs— find ourselves hurtling through life at breakneck speed, juggling a million things but struggling to carve out time for what truly matters: our families and ourselves. We say family is a priority, yet our schedules scream otherwise.

So, let me ask you: Can you sense when you're careening towards burnout, weighed down by endless obligations and commitments?

I've been there too.

As someone who finds it hard to say no, I've often found myself spread thin, trying to be everywhere at once.

I'm an introvert at heart, yet I've felt the pressure to show up at every event, both personally and professionally. It's a balancing act that often leaves me feeling overwhelmed.

A few years back, I hit a breaking point. I caught myself daydreaming about being in the hospital — yes, seriously! The idea of lying in bed all day, with someone else taking care of me, sounded like a dream come true. It's funny in a way, but it was also a wake-up call. If I was fantasizing about being hospitalized just to escape the chaos of everyday life, something was seriously off-kilter.

And it's not just me. Many of my coaching clients grapple with the same struggles. They may not be dreaming of hospital stays, but they're making subtle attempts to escape the pressure. Whether it's avoiding client emails, hiding self-care treats from loved ones, or fantasizing about booking a conference out of state for a break, the signs of impending burnout are there.

But here's the thing: We don't have to wait until we're on the brink of collapse to take action.

One tip I often share with my clients is the importance of proactive self-care. It's about identifying the things that bring us joy — big or small — and intentionally incorporating them into our daily lives.

Grab a journal or a notepad and start listing those joy-inducing activities. Whether it's a morning walk, a cozy cup of tea, or simply taking time to read a book, every little bit counts. Then, together, we figure out how to weave these moments of self-care into our routines, ensuring that our lives feel nourishing rather than draining.

So, let me leave you with this: What's one thing that brings you joy, and how can you make space for it in your busy schedule? It's time to prioritize what truly matters and reclaim your time for the things that bring you fulfillment.

If you're ready to break free from the cycle of overwhelm and reclaim control of your schedule, I invite you to book a Clarity Call with me. Let's chat one-on-one about how I can support you on your journey to a more balanced, intentional life.

Here's to making time for what matters most!
